Poor Reaction to Google News Comments

Google will start allowing people to post comments to stories appearing in Google News - but only if they are connected to the story, and this has been verified by Google. So if an article says Britney Spears is pregnant again, she could add a comment that she isn't, as long as Google have checked out that it really is her commenting.

Sounds a bit convoluted and pointless to me, but Google knows best. Two articles think it is silly too:
